Was this done with a red filter, actually? Just because of the dark sky and the very dark foliage. I'm looking to try black-and-white a bit myself. Thanks!

Not at all, just a circular poariser and then I convert to b&w with Adobe Lightroom. ;)

It is so difficult for me to explain, but I love the "darkness" in your photos. I mean not emotionally dark - but how those crisp blues of the sky can turn so black in your pictures - and still convey a sometimes even bright atmosphere. I have come across this in some old B/W movies before, but I don't know enough about photography, to know, how this created.
But I do like it a lot! :-) I'm glad I'm watching you, Bruno =D

Danke Gregor for this very kind message. In fact, the more the sky is blue the darker it'll become in b&w conversion. I don't use the classical Photoshop to convert my Raw files in b&w but Adobe Lightroom, and this software offers great fine control on how you edit each color of your pic. I usually chose to darken the blue channels a bit as if it is an IR shot though it isn't. Hope that could help you. ;)

Thanks a lot for explaining. Just trying to learn:-)
But what is an IR shot?

Infra Red.. A kind of red filter.. You can try a red filter, excellent means to dark a sky, but take care with highlights.. ;)

Now I feel so dumb - I should have thought of Infrared :-)
Again, thank you for taking your time to explain :thanks:
