out of curiosity, how extensive is the photoshopping? at least i'm assuming there was a decent amount of post work. if not, then what else did you do? i have some really cool B&W images (imho) but they seem to lack the same "atmosphere" that this photo spills all over the screen.

I don't use photoshop. It's just a winter shot with filters converted and optimized in contrasts with Lightroom.. Nothing special, as usual in my work.. It's just a photo, not a piece of digital art..... ;)

Mhum ... là, je ne sais pas (et en plus il est tard) mais il y a quelque chose dans cette image qui me dérange ... le côté dramatique du blockhaus ne ressort pas, j'ai l'impression qu'il y a un traitement un peu trop fort qui lui donne un petit air de "pas vrai". Mais bon, en ce moment je n'ai pas les yeux en face des trous ! Et vu les +80 favs que tu as sur cette image, je me dis que je suis peut-être à côté de la plaque et que je ferai mieux de revenir un peu plus tard pour revoir mon commentaire :-)

Je ne sais pas.. La lumière de décembre était assez spéciale ce jour là (27/12).. Non pas de post traitement particulier, mais une lumière un peu irréelle que j'ai accentuée lors de la conversion en B&W. Le vignettage joue peut etre aussi.. Dunno...

Your a magician. This post processing is really nice. Their are no strong highlights but the contrasts pop out very well. The tonal range you've created is awesome. The photo looks like cybertron millions of years after the termination of all transformers. :+fav:

Pretty intense and somewhat sinister. Its funny how u can drive all over normandy, turn a corner and theres one of those right in front of you, in the middle of nowhere! Great stuff.

J'adore tes photos de blochaus. je me suis essayé à cet exercice sur les blockhaus de l'atlantique - qui n'ont jamais vu la guerre - mais les deux photos que j'ai pise sur ma page sont malheureusement les résultats d'un très mauvais scanner :

J'aime beaucoup le premier. Dommage pour le grain mais ça pourrait donner qque chose en N&B en gardant ce grain justement. ;)

La lumière..
Bah c'est le sujet principal de tous mes travaux en fait. Je ne shoot qu'à certaines heures et j'ai généralement peu de temps pour une séance tant c'est limite, mais c'est justement cette limite qui fait tout à mon avis. C'est ce qui donne pour le principal ces lumières que tu vois sur ma galerie. Pour cette nouvelle série, je voulais de toute manière qque chose de plus austère. J'ai été servi fin décembre avec une lumière bien filtrée par les nuages. J'ai juste eu le droit à un soudain embrasement de quelques secondes (sur The End Of A Day). Donc moi qui rêvait d'austérité, j'ai été gaté. Mais cette série est de toute manière un peu à part dans mon travail.
La lumière particulière que tu évoques sur les 2 "Blind Memory" correspond peu ou prou à ce que j'avais sur la plage le jour de la séance (27/12), en gros une lumière de fond d'aquarium si tu vois ce que je veux dire.
Je travail exclusivement en digital, les images sont enregistrées en Raw. Oui, j'utilise des filtres (ND et polarisant le plus souvent) et puis il y a un travail final via Adobe Lightroom ou je fais la conversion en noir et blanc le plus finement possible, et ajuste la luminosité et les contrastes. Je renforce également souvent le vignetage.
Je pense qu'il y a un mix de tout.
La lumière présente, les filtres et le travail que j'appelle de "tirage" en numérique. La chaîne numérique me permet d'obtenir exactement ce que j'avais en tête au moment d'une séance mais rien de plus que ce qu'on pourrait obtenir de manière traditionnelle.

Ce n'est pas la première fois que j'entends parler d'adobe lightroom, ça à l'air vraiment bien. le résultat final donne une impression vraiment dramatique et donne à la structure en béton toute sa force.

Thanks Kaycee. Yes there are numerous bunkers here in Normandy but this one is particular, the beach where you can find it is also very particular and unique.. :)
